On May 29th, the factory tour of "Patisserie Ma Cherie" in Motomiya-cho was held. The visitors consisted of 6 adults and 4 children. They were very excited to see the factory of confectioneries for the first time. |

First of all, the owner introduced us how this confectionery could be particular about ingredients. For instance, fresh eggs from Oku Kuji and high quality oil without smell are used. We had a chance to taste the special sugar and chocolates. They showed us the processes of making macaroons and mixing the powders for pound cakes. It was attractive. They explained that making confectioneries needs both human's intuition and scientific methods, which made us realize the depth of knowledge in confectioneries. The visitors were filled with smiles when they tasted the confectioneries. Some children declared that their dream would be to become "patissier", and we were enliven. |

Ms Kyoko Mochizuki, the representative of Patisserie Ma Cherie got married in 1986 and became a Hitachi City citizen. Her husband cheered her up not to become an ordinary housewife. So she started studying dietary education and making confectioneries. In 2001, she got national qualification of Confectionery Hygiene Master. She became the owner chef of Patisserie Ma Cherie(in kamiai cho). She opened Patisserie Ma Cherie(in Motomiya cho) in July 2015. They "came down the mountain" to get more customers. |

We suppose that the popularities of the shop will develop in future. The trials of Patisserie Ma Cherie to show the factory to visitors openly without any secrets were interesting. The tastes of macaroons, brownie and Castella(pound cake) were perfect. The training of the staffs seemed to be thorough. For example, they teach the staffs to refrain from private talk during the works. We hope that Patisserie Ma Cheri will be a confectionery shop that will be loved by Hitachi City citizens. |
