| Outline of the Park The park is located at a wonderful site on a small hill. From this park,you can see mountains of the Abukuma to the west, open view of the beautiful Pacific Ocean to the east over factories and residential areas, and a tunnel of Joban Highway under the park. We can enjoy wonderful 360-degree panoramic view on the observatory. The symbolic observatory of the park looks like a “flying disc” and stands 15m high. To the north we can see the beach of Fukushima Prefecture, to the south, clear sea shore line toward Oarai, and near at our feet, whole view of Juo Dam Open space for events (lawn area), wooden athletic equipment and roller slide are arranged around the observatory to be useful for families with kids and people to hike. Rest rooms and parking lots are available. |

| Cherry Blossoms Another feature of the park is cherry blossoms. Some 300 species of cherry trees bloom in Japan. At the park 35 species bloom. Winter cherry tree starts to bloom in October. Yae cherry tree blooms late April to early May. So we can enjoy many cherry blossoms for long period of seasons. Many people visit the park on holidays in April to enjoy beautiful cherry blossoms, and so roads around the park have traffic jam. It will be solved soon when construction work is completed. |

| Juo Dam Juo Dam is located near to the west side of the park. It is a small dam with 40m high and 200m long. The water is used mainly for city water to the northern Hitachi and a small amount is used for industries. A fountain in the center of the dam has three patterns of jet stream to the height of 50m. By the lake a carillon of 12 bells plays music and tells the time automatically. |
