Cherry Blossoms in Hitachi City There are about 4,000 cherry
trees in Hitachi City. Cherry Blossom
Festival : The numbers on the left map show famous cherry sites in the city. They coincide with those of the following photographs. Stone monument “Sakura-Zuka” commemorates Mr. Yataro Sumi of the former Hitachi Cupper Mine ,who planted many cherry trees in Suwadai, Hitachi. It was dedicated by Mr. Naosaburo Takao , one of previous directors of Hitachi, Ltd.
