  In ancient times, sea bathing was practiced as a kind of natural treatment, and it was in 18th century in England that sea bathing was encouraged from a medical viewpoint.
  In Japan, a sea bathing place proposed by modern medical science was opened for the first time in Aichi Prefecture , then at Oiso in Kanagawa in 1885. After that many succeeded one after another in all over Japan.
  It is said that the main effects of sea bathing are; salty cold water stimulates our body and urges regeneration, and the sun’s rays increase the resistance of our skin. But, on the other hand we must pay attention to the fact that being exposed to the direct rays of the sun for hours causes bad effects. Please think about your best way of sea bathing.
  In Hitachi, there are six seas bathing places (see the table below). All of them are authorized as qualified ones through analyzing water and examining equipment (shower rooms, toilets, resting places, etc.) and each one’s surrounding. We recommend them from the viewpoint that they all are accessable .
